Instructional Designers, Content Authors, Web Developers, Authoring Teams, and all others involved in the design, development, and implementation of e-Learning applications and software simulations.
Having a workforce that can productively use internal software applications
and other business-related software is critical for many corporations. Using the
Simulation Editor in ToolBook Instructor, you can create interactive and
accurate software simulations that provide learners with hands-on learning
experiences and teach them what they need to know! This course provides you with
a foundation for developing simulations and combines a traditional,
instructor-led training approach with hands-on, interactive workshops and
coaching.
After taking this course, you will be able to:
| Design software simulations to meet your learning objectives. | |
| Develop simulations that can be used to demonstrate features, give learners opportunities to practice steps, and test learners on their interactions. | |
| Add instructions and feedback to simulations. | |
| Add custom functionality to simulations to make objects hide and show, change layers, and respond to specific simulation events. | |
| Create an application recording using the Sim AutoBuilder Recorder. | |
| Generate and modify simulations from Sim AutoBuilder recordings. | |
| Create menus to allow learners to trigger a simulation to operate. | |
| Make simulation templates to speed up the development process. | |
| Work on challenge exercises to develop multiple simulations. |
| Completion of the Fast Track to ToolBook Instructor course or proficiency in using ToolBook Instructor. | |
| Familiarity with the ToolBook Actions Editor (preferred, but not required). | |
| Basic mouse and keyboard entry skills. | |
| Ability to navigate a file structure, change the view of file listings, move and copy files, and create new folders (or directories). |
